This photo shoot took about 5 hours. Williana and I got together a variety of vintage batique and tie-dye fabrics on a hot summer day, and ventured off into the river valley of Edmonton to capture the refreshing and light mood on camera. The shoot was spontaneous and we made full use of our limitd makeup, fabrics, and equipment.

Williana blended yellows and whites for her eyeshadow to bring out the vibrant colour of the fabric, while I setup gold reflectors to bounce a bit of light onto her left profile.

Williana used a subtle pink eyeshadow, and I used a silver reflector a few feet from her face. This helped us to magnetize the light onto her face and the fabric, without drowning out any colour. There was a road right beside us, and there were lots of young guys checking her out, I'm sure she felt like the Nubian princess she is.
